Part One of a two four tracks EP’s Yousef will release on his own Circus Recordings this summer…
EP1 is designed to be colourful, four tracks of genre defying harmonic house, quirky techno and poignant story telling, already tested to devastating effect in Ibiza this summer.
By The Way You Dance gently unfolds with a glitchy drum kit, which is firmly locked together with the sleaziest of guitar riffs and haunting vocals. A contradictorily positive bassline leads the story into a string laden and almost moving repeat of crescendo’s like the sun emerging on a morning at burning man.
For The Terraces is driving oddball house & quirky techno, playful and almost hooky, and directly aimed at the club terraces of Ibiza and around the world. A real gem.
For The Terraces (Patrick Topping remix)
takes a tougher stance on the original, leading it into LSD like mind cultivated craziness… Big bass, bigger drums and a scrappy dance off.
An Old Friend with David Williams (Y’s club version) is an update by Yousef of the lead track from his 2nd artist album ‘a product of your environment’. New drums, new hooks, new analogue bass creating a soundscape that naturally rides around the new arrangement with the same spirited fairy-tale of the original. A fine way to close this summers first Yousef EP.
