German house & techno prodigy Quell makes his debut on Circus Recordings. Label owner Yousef is a long time fan on Quell, playing his tracks regularly in his sets and his weekly radio show, with Quell recently remixing Yousef club smash “Let Go”.

When it comes to making fully accomplished house and techno, with a nod of respect and romanticism for the past 30 years of dance music, there are only a handful of names that might come to mind that truly accomplish this, and Quell is definitely one of them. His unique way of blending old and new elements in his productions, yet still be able to come up with a sound all his own, has earned him his a legion of followers in modern electronic music, from Hot Since 82, Joris Voorn, Carl Cox to Yousef himself, they are all fans.

From having released EPs on seminal labels such as 2020Vision, Tsuba, 4Lux, These Days Records and a full length album on the legendary Ibadan Records Quell has explored new paths with a diverse output - remixing Basement Jaxx’s ‘Mermaid Of Salinas’ to a 4-tracker for the Parisian boutique label Skylax, always maintaining that distinct vein throughout, which makes his musicinstantly recognisable.

TAKES FOREVER: Typical Quell teched-out house groover with deliberately deadpan sounding vocal loops hovering over the drums stabs and warm hypnotic bassline.

SUSANNE encapsulates almost all of Quell’s music influences in one track; Proto progressive trance euphoria, 80s wave, 90s RnB, the sound of Ibiza DJs with thick US house drum programming. Running with a nod to his older tracks 'Alsos' and 'Rossiya' on Ibadan.

RAGDOLL and SIAMESE: come as a pair, techno-house tools with layered textures and bottom heavy production, with the signature Quell excitement.
